Hi, I’m Jane. I’m a professional actor, director, producer, and workshop leader for students.
As a professional actor, I’ve worked with companies across Canada including: The Stratford Festival; Mirvish Productions; The Grand; Orangeville Theatre; Lighthouse Theatre; Bard on the Beach; Vancouver Playhouse; The Arts Club; Drayton Entertainment; York Theatre Festival; Theatre By the Bay; The Festival of Classics; Stage West, and the Poor Alex. I was nominated for Best Actress at the Calgary Festival of One Act Plays. Recently I had the opportunity to work in Mozambique, performing in a production of A Winter’s Tale with Shakespeare Link Canada and the Montes Namuli Dance Company. As a director, I’ve worked on various theatre productions, including Auto-Erotic Misadventure for the Calgary Festival of One Act Plays, for which I won the Award for Best Director. I’ve also directed nine student productions of Shakespeare plays, and just finished a production of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic children’s tale, The Little Prince with COMPASS Theatre Productions. As a producer, I founded the Toronto Cold Reads (TCR), a cold reading series that features and develops new scripts written by local playwrights and read by professional actors in front of an audience. It is a community for committed artists to take risks in a supportive and professional environment. (for more information, click here)
As a workshop leader, I have been on the Stratford Festival education department’s roster since 2001,and assisted in the development of the Teaching Artists course through which Stratford, in conjunction with York University, certifies artists to teach. I also designed and implemented an education program for the Festival of Classics and was the Education Coordinator for Shakespeare Link Canada.
